spiced-up choc banana smoothie
This smoothie is the bomb... if I do say so myself :)
I have it most days and it never disappoints, plus it is totally guilt free! No refined sugar, no dairy and gluten free.
Enjoy it for breakfast, as an afternoon sweet fix or a dessert. Get in my belly!

It's super tasty and easy to make. Here is all you will need and a few options to experiement with. Enjoy!
Place all the ingredients into a blender and blend baby blend until the consistently is smooth and even.
Pour into a large glass and enjoy. I eat mine with a spoon to savour each mouthful, which also ensures it doesn't disappear in seconds!
Options:
1. Add a tablespoon of 100% peanut butter to really kick it.
2. Give it a zig with a shot of espresso
3. Create a smoothie bowl with fruit, coconut flakes and granola. See below.
4. Layer in a jar with chia pudding, smoothie, blueberries and granola. See below.
5. Chia Choc dessert - add 1/4 of the blended smoothie mixture in a tumbler class, stir in a tablespoon of chia seeds and place in the fridge to set for 1 hour. Top with berries/cooked apples, flaked coconut and almonds and enjoy. You should be able to create 4 of these desserts with the above mixture.
6. Overnight soaked Muesli - Place the smoothie in a bowl or jar and stir in muesli / plain rolled oats, chia seets, dry goji berries and/or coconut flakes. Cover and place in the fridge overnight. The oats, berries and seeds will soak in all the smoothie goodness ready for you to dig in as soon as you wake-up in the morning. Perfection :)
7. Experiment and get creative. It's a great base recipe for you to create lots of yumminess.
Serves 1
- 1 banana
- 1 cup of coconut milk (Almond is good too, but the sweetness and fat of the coconut milk is the bomb. Cows milk works a treat too.)
- 1 tablespoon raw cacoa powder
- 1 tablespoon of walnuts (almonds, pecans or brazil nuts work too)
- 1 tablespoon of flaxseed powder (or chia seeds)
- 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
- 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg powder (optional)
- Pinch of clove powder (optional)
- 1-2 Medjool dates (optional - I only add dates if I'm making the smoothie for my brother or kids)
